Nagamochi-uta, a wedding song from the old Date lands in Miyagi Prefecture. I call this the Trousseau Song, because “nagamochi” is the item of luggage (if I recall, a box on a long pole) that one packed part of a trousseau in. This song was sung as the bridal procession came over the doorstep of the new home.

This song is “Sōma nihen-gaeshi” (相馬二遍返し) a song from Sōma in eastern Fukushima Prefecture. The image you see is Sōma Shrine, built on the site of the Sōma clan’s old castle at Sōma-Nakamura.
